If you are planning a holiday that will include skiing, especially to an area you have not skied before, you may want to purchase ski holiday insurance. If you are planning on a trip to the United States you need to be aware of new rules regarding entry into that country. There is new Visa Waiver Scheme that allows you to fill out the form online and must be done 72 hours before your flight to the United States. Even if you don’t have current plans it would do you well to fill it out as the form is good for two years. It is called the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA). You can access the form at https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/esta.
There is no charge for this service and you need your date of birth, passport details, flight information and lodging information while you will be in the United States. It is for British Citizen passport holders that will allow the traveler to stay in the United States for up to 90 days. Important note: If you are refused entry to the United States because your documentation is not in order or you neglected to fill out the ESTA or your ESTA was denied, any travel insurance you purchased will not be valid.
